Ah, brake repair -- the bane of our existence. But we all know what potentially could happen if brake repair is neglected. There are many worst case scenarios that could go along with that. So, as a rule of thumb, it's best to get your brakes serviced at least every 12,000 miles or if it's been over a year since you had them last checked. And especially if you hear squealing or smell any kind of burning. You should also get your brakes checked when your brake pedal reaches the floor, feels spongy, or if it takes the length of a runway to stop. But don't wait until it gets that bad. It's always easier (and less expensive!) to deal with a problem before it gets really bad. There's a lot riding on your brakes-don't put yourself or your passengers in danger. Brake maintenance is often forgotten about but is extremely important.
