Speed really does not have much to do with tire wear. Tires wear because of the fact that they are moving against an abrasive surface like asphalt. Whether fast or slow, they will get about the same amount of wear per mile while against an abrasive surface.

Tires wear in different ways while on the vehicle, due to the job that they do. The front tires guide the rear tires. It is as simple as that. They wear differently.

A good time to remember to have your tires rotated is to have it done when you have your oil changed. That way, it is never something that is forgotten. You can have your tires inspected for wear as well. After inspection, the service technician may recommend that you replace your worn tires with new ones.

This is always a good idea. Worn tires can be dangerous, and cost much more in the long run. See your dealer for a tire rotation!
