The upcoming Jeep Wrangler is introducing a new pickup model and its recently been spotted on the road for the first time. The Wrangler pickup is codenamed "JT", and is expected to be released in 2017. The model hasn't been officially announced by Jeep, but speculation and rumors have been swirling for years. The new design marks the first Jeep pickup since the Jeep Comanche was discontinued in 1992.

The 2017 Jeep Wrangler, which is codenamed the "JL", is getting a generational upgrade. It's expected to feature stronger, lighter weight aluminum construction and improved cabin features. The pickup version of the new Wrangler should be releasing around the same time. The next generation of Wranglers will feature a 3.6-liter V6, a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, and a turbo diesel option. Jeep's toying with the idea of releasing a Hybrid model, but it must live up to the Trail Rated reputation the brand is known for.
