The spirit of the RAM Trucks Heavy Duty lineup is to forge paths where there weren't paths before. In the ever-hot race for the most powerful truck, the Auburn Hills truck maker has been under more pressure than ever to keep models such as the 3500 on top. For 2016, they've succeeded in spades.
The 2016 RAM Heavy Duty line, which will begin production in the third quarter of this year, amps up the power ratings of its 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel from "galactic" to "cosmic." The new 3500, when equipped with the diesel mill, will boast best-in-class 900 lb-ft of torque and a maximum towing capacity north of 31,000 lbs., far eclipsing that of its crosstown rivals.
