The Chrysler Group has recently announced a new, innovative goal: to develop powerful, highly efficient electric powertrains and parts that have the potential to change the automotive industry as we know it.  The car company is known for pushing the limits of technology and consumer interest, and we expect this new project to do the same in an incredibly successful way.

To pursue this goal, Chrysler Group has partnered up with McMaster University and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.  The automotive group and the Canadian government are the primary investors in this project, as the former has invested $9.25 million and the latter has given $8.93 million, but it's safe to say that we will all benefit tremendously from the success of the endeavor.

The work itself will be conducted at the aforementioned school, which a team of research engineers and engineering students from the Chrysler Group’s Global Electrified Powertrain Group and the school.  For those who have yet to receive a diploma, this will be an incredible opportunity, and we're sure that they'll graduate with goals to help advance the industry even further in the not-too-distant future.

Electric powertrains have been in development for years, but this task force intends to bring advancements faster and at a pace that will help the wallets of consumers and the planet.  Who wouldn't love to see more affordable and powerful vehicles in the Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Billings showroom?!  We can't wait to see what they come up with, and what will eventually end up here at our Billings, MT dealership.
