Even though auto enthusiasts are still gossiping about this year's New York International Auto Show, speculations are already being made about next year's festivities and new model releases. One rumor in particular has recently been confirmed by Dodge, which plans to unveil its redesigned Dodge Challenger at the next auto show in New York. From the details that have been released, we think the 2015 model will definitely be worth watching for.
According to Ralph Grilles, the head of the SRT performance arm, the Challenger is currently being worked on and given a complete makeover. Although he didn't confirm anything specific, it sounds as though some drastic changes are underway. We suspect in addition to a few exterior enhancements, new advanced technologies will be incorporated along with changes that boost performance and efficiency.
It's hard to imagine the model will change too much in appearance though, considering the Challenger's iconic style has become an important element that makes it stand out within the new Dodge lineup. Also since it was the third best-selling muscle car in the US this past March, we'd assume the automaker would preserve the popular style elements that attract so much attention.
As for the Challenger model that can currently be found in our Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Billings showroom, it has a great variety of technology onboard. For starters, its Pentastar V-6 engine cranks out 305 horsepower. Drivers can also choose the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 option for increased fuel efficiency and a little extra performance power. With the convenience of controls at your fingertips with its Uconnect system, this model offers quite the driving experience.
If any of you in the greater Billings, MT area are interested in learning more about the Challenger or taking it for a test drive, we encourage you to visit our showroom.
