Memorial Day always marks the start of summer adventures like barbequing and camping, but for the Jeep brand it was the perfect opportunity to bring back the Jeep Patriot Freedom Edition. There was no better way to celebrate the lives of those who have sacrificed so much for our country in battle, then to reintroduce a model that represents freedom.

The Jeep Patriot Freedom Edition was originally launched last year on Veteran's Day, and the brand decided to further emphasize its connection with the U.S. Army by bringing it back on another commemorative holiday. While it looks similar to the 2012 edition model, the new model is available in red, white and blue exterior colors and even adds some extra patriotic flare. Building off the Patriot's mid-level Latitude trim, it features military-inspired stars on the hood and rear quarter panel, and an "Oscar Mike" (meaning "on the move" in the military) badge on the lower front door. Special star accent stitching appears on the front seats as well.

Announcing the release of the model in a press release, the brand explains, "This Memorial Day, in tribute to the brave men and women, past and present, serving our country here and abroad, the brand is reintroducing a special 2014 Model Year Jeep Patriot Freedom Edition."1

As an additional tribute to those that courageously serve our country, the automaker will be donating $250 to various military charities for each Jeep Patriot Freedom Edition model that is sold.
