Here in the Billings, MT area and beyond, RAM trucks are renowned for their versatility and rugged power to tackle any task in their path. This is why it comes as no surprise that not one, but two trucks in the new RAM are contenders for Motor Trend's prestigious 20124 Truck of the Year Award.
First up is the EcoDiesel variant of the RAM 1500. This light-duty pickup truck offers tons of power with its 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 that generates 240 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque when mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. This model is not only powerful but also may be the most fuel efficient truck in the U.S. once its EPA fuel economy ratings are official released.
Also up for the award is the RAM Heavy Duty, which now offers drivers the option to draw power from a 6.4-liter V8 that churns out 410 horsepower. For the 2014 model year, the Heavy Duty lineup received a number of updates like an optional gooseneck/fifth wheel capabilities on the RAM 2500, while the 2500 HD and 3500 HD feature a five-link coil suspension with the option for an air bag suspension.
